10 Reasons Why You Should Watch "The Big Bang Theory"!

So it's Monday, and for me that means that the most important prime-time viewing night is upon me, and for that I am thankful.

The most anticipated of all of my Monday night schedule is, of course, the penultimate of "Geek-Shows", The Big Bang Theory. (Mondays at 9:30 EST on CBS) I love this show, and I think that you should too (Especially if you're a geek, like me!) and I have compiled a list of ten (Count 'em, 10!) reasons why you should be (if you're not already) watching "The Big Bang Theory"...

1. It's Produced by Chuck Lorre - Producer of "Two and a Half Men".

Lorre is a comedy supergenius! He's been the producer of many a sitcom that has been successful, such as Roseanne (1990-1992), Grace Under Fire (1993-1998), Dharma and Greg (1997-2002). He also created one of my favorite shows as a child: "My Secret Identity" (Which for those of you who remember, show Jerry O'Connell to not-so-superstardom). Lorre knows funny, and BBT (Big Bang Theory) is no exception!

2. The Characters of the show are likable and relatable.

As a geek myself, I can totally relate to Sheldon, Leonard, Raj and Howard. Each of them posses neuroses that I, myself have to a small degree. My brother, Joel (Who introduced me to the show) specifically states that I am most like Sheldon, specifically with the Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, and Fashion sense. (The Longer sleeve shirt under the short sleeve shirt)

3. The Science in the Show is Actually Accurate!

Lorre, as well as other producer Bill Prady wanted to make sure that the character's scientific statements had an air of accuracy to them, so they went ahead and hired Super-genius: David Saltzberg, a professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California. The accuracy is so precise that even the equations and whatnot on the white boards on the show are actually accurate!

4. Kaley Cuoco is GORGEOUS!

Cuoco, who plays Penny, the object of Leonard's affection, plays the part of the beautiful non-geek in the show, the "Rose" to the boys' "Doctor Who" if you will. Penny could not have been casted better, as Cuoco is not only gorgeous, but she has great comic timing, and watching the show, I find myself falling for her, as Leonard has.

5. DC Comics is represented PERFECTLY!

From Sheldon's assortment of Flash and Green Lantern Shirts, to the collection of action figures and comics adorning Leonard and Sheldon's apartment, to the use of analogies and depictions of DC Comics characters, the #1 brand in comics is represented better than Superman Returns! (It helps that the show is produced by Warner Bros., Owner of DC Comics)

6. The DVD's are VERY affordable.

Both Seasons 1 and 2 are now available on DVD, and are less than $30 each at your local Wal-Mart. How can you do better than that?

7. "Geek" Pop Culture References A'Plenty

From Sheldon's "Doctor Who" Viewing schedule, to Summer Glau on a Train with the boys. The Gang are not just typical super-nerd geniuses, they're geeks just like you and I. The conversations that they have in the comic book store are classic examples of this. These are conversations that I, myself have had a number of times... Heck, I could see myself being the unemployed, non-scientist friend of the gang.

8. It's one of the MANY awesome shows on CBS on Monday night!

CBS has a number of really great shows Monday night. From "How I Met Your Mother" and "Two and a Half Men" to my guilty pleasure: "CSI:Miami", Monday night is CBS night. The only shows that I will change the channel for are "Heroes" and "WWE Monday Night Raw", however judging by the quality of these two programs as of late, CBS takes priority, and I usually will leave these two for Time-shifting.

9. Continuity Errors??? Not on the Big Bang Theory!

I have watched every episode multiple times, and I am yet to spot any real "Continuity Errors" with the characters. For example, whenever they talk about the food that they're eating, or ordering, Leonard's Lactose-intollerance is always always mentioned, and the after-effects. Raj's inability to speak to women (Unless drinking or under experimental medication) has never been broken. Even movie-references and the like are accurate!

10. It's so funny, even the Episode Titles are clever!

From "The Fuzzy Boots Corollary" to the "Lizard-Spock Expansion", there isn't an episode where I haven't cracked into hysterical laughter. The writing on the show is superb! The lines are delivered with such perfect timing, the sets are great. Everything about this show is hilarious and funny! And that's why you should watch it, because it's one of the funniest shows on TV!

There are more reasons, but if I came up with 13 reasons why you should watch, seems a little "off", so I suggest that you check out "The Big Bang Theory", tonight at 9:30 Eastern on CBS! You'll be glad that you did!

Shouldn't the blogger have known it was a repeat?
Being a self proclaimed (again and again) knowledge filled geek?
